About the Class
The latter half of part thirty of the Qur'an comprises shorter surahs that are often memorised and recited in our daily prayers. It is thus most important that we familiarise ourselves with the meaning of these verses along with the scholarly explanations that provide frameworks to not only understand the particular surah in question, but also the central concepts that shape the Quranic worldview.
Each surah shall be explained in view of the following points:
its period and chronology of revelation
the Prophetic statements and scholarly explanations that inform us of the circumstances at the time of revelation
the linguistical features relating to word order and reasons for a verse's structure, which provide understandings of the Quran’s claim of being inimitable.
This term, we shall be continuing from Surat Quraysh (106).
